QUEENSHIP OF MARY

(Mary) has a right to be loved as Queen of all hearts so that through her, hearts would be cleansed and themselves become immaculate, similar and like unto her own heart, and so worthy of union with God.

– St. Maximillian Kolbe

LOVE ONE ANOTHER

This, then, is what I command you: love one another.”  John 15:17

Through the love of the Father present in each Sister of Bon Secours, we are impelled:

  • to alleviate human suffering;
  • to help bring others to an awareness of the redemptive meaning of suffering and death;

to an awareness of our relationship with the Father by reproducing in ourselves Christ healing, consoling, teaching, and loving – Christ always aware of the needs of others.

I AM CHOSEN

“…I chose you and appointed you to go and bear much fruit, the kind of fruit that endures.”
John 15:16

All Christians in virtue of their baptismal promises are called to participate in the saving mission of the Church. Our mandate from the church, through our religious consecration by vow, constitutes us apostles in a new way. As such we are witnesses of the Good News of love, of hope, of justice and of peace. For us, therefore, the struggle for a more humane world is not an option. It is an integral part of spreading the Gospel.

MY HEART FILLED WITH LOVE

My Jesus, fill my heart with so much love that one day it will break just to be with you. My Jesus, you know I have placed you as a seal on my heart.  Remain there always.

– St. Bernadette Soubirous

30 MINUTES A DAY

Give some time, if it is only half an hour in every day, to devotional reading, which is as necessary to the well ordering of the mind as the hand of the gardener is to prevent weeds destroying your favorite flowers.

– St. Elizabeth Ann Seton

SPEAKING TO YOUR DEAREST FRIEND

Acquire the habit of speaking to God as if you were alone with God.  Speak with familiarity and confidence as to your dearest and most loving friend. Speak of your life, your plans, your troubles, your joys, your fears. In return, God will speak to you — not that you will hear audible words in your ears, but words that you will clearly understand in your heart.

– St. Alphonsus Liguori

THANK YOU LORD

One act of thanksgiving when things go wrong with us, is worth a thousand thanks when things
are agreeable to our inclinations.

–Saint John of Avila

PROCLAIMING GOD’S LOVE

God of Surpassing Joy, your promise of new life made real through Jesus frees me to go out and proclaim the joy of the gospel,”…something to be experienced, something to be known and lived only through giving it away, through giving ourselves away.”-Pope Francis
Hear my praises and gratitude this day.

GOD IS THE GENTLEST OF LOVES

The Lord God is present where the new day shines in the moisture of the young grasses. The Lord
God is present where the small wildflowers are known to Him alone. The Lord God passes suddenly, in the wind, at the moment when night ebbs into the ground. He Who is infinitely great has given His children a share in His own innocence. His alone is the gentlest of loves: whose pure flame respects all things.

–Thomas Merton, The Sign of Jonas

IN HEAVEN

In Heaven there is nothing to fear. Restlessness of craving will end, because of the full possession of all good. Every external cause of disturbance will cease, because all evil will be absent. The perfect tranquility of peace will be enjoyed there. Isaiah 32:18 alludes to this: “My people shall sit in the beauty of peace.”

– St. Thomas Aquinas (Shorter Summa)
