My favorite hobby is gardening. Here I am in our backyard in Richmond, Va., where I share a home with Sr. Anne Marie. I really love where I live because of the four seasons that are conducive to flower gardening.
I had an incredible journey to South Africa two years ago to assist our sisters there. Not only did I help with medical needs, but I was able to make pastoral visits in the township, serve meals, interact with children and young mothers and share God’s love as we tried to understand their basic needs.
I have time for the hobbies that I love too! I can always be found with a camera in hand taking pictures of friends and also flowers.
A part of ministry is getting to know my colleagues. We try to catch up in between appointments, at times find ourselves sharing a laugh together or even swapping good books. This is important to me as a hospice physician.
I often travel with Sr. Anne Marie or other sisters for vacation. Here I am at Siesta Key, Florida with the catch of the day! :)
As sisters, prayer is at the center of our lives. Even in my busy ministry as a physician, I have the time to pray with my sisters. My favorite form of prayer is faith-sharing.
