REFLECTIONS OF THE LIGHT

We are the children of the Universe
Dust of the stars
Depth of the night
Slivers of the sun

MAKE IT COUNT!

February 1, 2018

This life, you must know
as the tiny splash of a raindrop.

A thing of beauty that disappears as it comes into being.

Therefore, set your goal.
Make use of every day and every night.

– Tibetan Buddhist Saying

LIFE IS AN ADVENTURE!

“The biggest adventure you can take is to live the life of your dreams.”

Oprah Winfrey

YOU WILL FIND REST

January 29, 2018

Come to me, all of you who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke and put it on you and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in spirit, and you will find rest. For the yoke I will give you is easy, and the load I will put on you is light.

Matthew 11:28-30

CHOOSE LIFE FULLY

January 25, 2018

Some may say that religious life is declining, but in my heart I know that God calls not only to me, but the women of today to be bold and choose life fully – a life that responds to the marginalized and the ever pressing needs in our world today and tomorrow.

– Sister Pat Dowling, “Silhouettes, Personal Reflections of Sisters of Bon Secours, USA”

BE STRONG!

January 22, 2018

I command you: be strong and steadfast!

Do not fear nor be dismayed, for the LORD, your God, is with you wherever you go.

Joshua 1:9

DO YOU HAVE ENOUGH?

January 15, 2018

May you have enough happiness to keep you happy.
Enough trials to keep you strong.
Enough sorrow to keep you human.
Enough hope to keep you thoughtful.
Enough failure to keep you humble.
Enough success to keep you eager.
Enough friends to give you comfort.
Enough faith and courage in yourself to banish depression.
Enough wealth to meet your daily needs.
Enough determination to make each day a better day than yesterday.

Hope in the Lord

R. (40:5a) Blessed are they who hope in the Lord.
Blessed the man who follows not
the counsel of the wicked
Nor walks in the way of sinners,
nor sits in the company of the insolent,
But delights in the law of the LORD
and meditates on his law day and night.
R. Blessed are they who hope in the Lord.
He is like a tree
planted near running water,
That yields its fruit in due season,
and whose leaves never fade.
Whatever he does, prospers.
R. Blessed are they who hope in the Lord.
Not so, the wicked, not so;
they are like chaff which the wind drives away.
For the LORD watches over the way of the just,
but the way of the wicked vanishes.
R. Blessed are they who hope in the Lord.

Psalm 1: 1-2, 3, 4 and 6

Life as a Sister: Spirituality

You Are Chosen

The Lord, your God, has chosen you from all the nations on the face of the earth to be a people peculiarly his own. It was because the Lord loved you and because of his fidelity to the oath he had sworn to your fathers, that he brought you out with his strong hand from the place of slavery, and ransomed you from the hand of Pharaoh, king of Egypt. Understand, then, that the Lord, your God, is God indeed, the faithful God who keeps his merciful covenant to the thousandth generation toward those who love him and keep his commandments.

Deuteronomy 7: 6, 8-9
